In these Terms: "We" / "Us" / "The Firm" refers to Hikmah Syarie, a legal practice based in Putrajaya, Malaysia. "You" / "User" refers to any person accessing our website or engaging our services. "Services" means the Syariah legal consultation, estate planning, and court representation services described on our website. "Website" means the website at https://hikmahs.live. "Engagement Letter" means any written agreement for services entered into between you and the firm.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website or requesting our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Use of the website is available only to persons aged 18 or above with capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are acting on behalf of another person in connection with a legal matter, you represent that you have authority to do so.
3. Description of Services
Hikmah Syarie provides Syariah legal services in non-criminal matters, including: mediation-led family consultation under applicable state Syariah enactments; Faraid estate distribution advice, Wasiat drafting, and Hibah structuring; and representation before state Syariah High Courts, Subordinate Courts, and the Syariah Court of Appeal. Services are provided by admitted Peguam Syarie. Our services are available to Muslim individuals residing in or with matters under the jurisdiction of Malaysian state Syariah courts.
4. Website Use
The information on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and does not create a solicitor-client relationship. You should not rely on any content on this website as a substitute for legal advice specific to your circumstances. We endeavour to keep website content current but do not warrant its completeness or accuracy at any given time.
5. User Responsibilities
When using our website or communicating with us, you agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the website
- Reproduce or distribute any content from this website without our written consent
6. Engagement and Fees
Our legal services are provided under a separate Engagement Letter which governs the specific scope, fees, and terms of the retainer. Fees disclosed on our website (RM 540 for a family consultation session; RM 1,900 for a Faraid and Wasiat engagement; from RM 3,600 for Syariah court representation) are indicative and subject to the scope confirmed in the Engagement Letter. Payment terms, invoicing arrangements, and applicable goods and services tax are set out in the Engagement Letter. We accept payment in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
7. Confidentiality
All information you provide in connection with a legal matter is treated as confidential in accordance with our professional obligations as Peguam Syarie and the Legal Profession Act 1976. We will not disclose confidential information to third parties except as required by law, court order, or with your consent. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information on how personal data is handled.

9. Disclaimer
The website and its content are provided on an "as is" basis. We do not warrant that the website will be available at all times or that it is free from errors or viruses. Information on this website does not constitute legal advice. Legal outcomes depend on individual facts, evidence, the applicable state enactment, and the discretion of the court. We do not make representations about the outcome of any matter.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, our liability for any claim arising from use of this website (as opposed to a legal engagement governed by an Engagement Letter) is limited to direct losses and excludes indirect, consequential, or economic loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Termination
You may cease using this website at any time. We may restrict access to the website or any part of it at our discretion. Termination of a legal engagement is governed by the Engagement Letter and applicable professional conduct rules.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from use of this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. For disputes arising from legal engagements, the dispute resolution mechanism set out in the Engagement Letter shall apply. We encourage resolution of disputes informally in the first instance — please contact us at [email protected].
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the website following such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
